Explain how media producers define audiences with reference to detailed illustrative examples and with generally correct use of subject terminology

D1
Comprehensively explain how media producers define audiences with elucidated examples and consistently using subject terminology correctly

 

Task:

Investigate and document how audience are defined by media producers and media research agencies. You will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of how producers identify target audiences, and you are encouraged to look at the role of the media production company within this process. For higher marks you must discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different audience categories.
