In order to create a plan for next year please complete a short paragraph covering the following and send to Mr Dodzo/Mr Butler:
– What is your ultimate career goal, has it changed?
– Have you made the most of your time here this year?
– Did you take full advantage of all the opportunities that were presented to you?
– Did you do enough?
– Can you do more?
– What are your strengths and weaknesses?
– What can you do better to improve your chances and be true to yourself?
This paragraph will form the first part of a plan that we will keep and will help you start to plan your progression route in more detail. If you are going onto higher education then visit prospective universities and ask lots of questions, have a short list of about five and a draft personal statement in a word document when you return. If you are planning to go straight into industry, continue to research employment opportunities that are out there and carry out another skills audit to see what you need to develop over the next year in order to be the right candidate. Also continue to look for opportunities to develop you media skills over the break. Network, network, network and continue to build that portfolio, CV and showreel.
‘Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new’
– Albert Einstein
‘If you think you can or if you think you can’t, either way you are right’
– Henry Ford
If you truly believe in yourself and your ability, and do not second guess what you can achieve, then ‘YES YOU CAN’ reach your desired goal.
Use the summer to reflect back on all that you have done during this past year on the Broadcast course.
Someone once said to me, ‘if anything is going to be, it is down to me’. Take charge and full control of your destiny and your learning, never take anything for granted. We have one life to live, let’s make the most of it and always be grateful of what we have.
ONE LOVE and enjoy the summer break.
Mr Dodzo & Mr Butler
