The Turkish Airlines Birmingham School Games is part of the wider Sainsbury’s School Games National Programme funded by Sport England, working to engage all children and young people in school years 3-13 in high quality, inclusive school sport competition. The finals events in Birmingham are the culmination of a range of local competitions within, and between the schools in the city.

This Summer School Sport-Birmingham are looking for the following roles that you could help with.  In return, you will be given a T-shirt, packed lunch and more importantly, the opportunity to gain valuable experience, meet various athletes, VIP’s and local media providers.

The dates and job roles available are:

Thursday 25 June, Alexander Stadium – Secondary Athletics Competition

·     Videographers to film the event

·     Photographers

·     Media team to interview our Sponsors and Sporting Champions (Harry Aikines-Aryeetey – English Sprint Medallist & Sophie Cook -UK Pole Vaulter), plus tweet and blog on our Games accounts

 Thursday 9 July, King Edwards High School for Girls – Secondary Games

·     Videographers to film the event

·     Photographers

·     Media team to interview competitors, Sponsors, and our Sporting Champion (Natasha Hunt – England Rugby World Cup Winner) in a Big Brother Style Pod, plus tweet and blog on our Games accounts.

Friday 10 July, King Edwards High School for Girls – Primary Games

·     Videographers to film the event

·     Photographers

·     Media team to interview competitors, Sponsors, and our Sporting Champion (Natasha Hunt – England Rugby World Cup Winner) in a Big Brother Style Pod, plus tweet and blog on our Games accounts.

All events will require you to attend from 9am-3pm and you will have a media manager on the day.

Please send a cover letter detailing your suitability for one of the above rolls to either Mr Dodzo or Mr Butler by Monday 15th June 2015 4.15pm.

In your cover letter, please address it to Ryan Armes,Youth, Education and Events Manager, and cover the following:

– Which role you wish to apply for and why;

– What skills/experience you already possess that demonstrate your suitability for the role;

– What skills you believe this opportunity will help you develop;

 Interviews will take place on Wednesday 17th June 2015.
