An exciting opportunity that may be of interest to some of you in advancing and testing your skills in 3D modelling and animation. This year, Creative Skillset is funding 3Dami Studios’ Summer School and in addition 3Dami are offering full bursaries to BOA students to attend, including transport to the summer school in London or Cardiff, accommodation and food during their stay.
Open to those aged 14-18, the summer school is an intensive 7-day residential programme where young people can rapidly develop their skills and put their learning to the test in a great atmosphere. 3Dami students will work in a team to form miniature digital studios, and think on their feet to script, model and animate a 2 minute short film in Blender before its premiere at the end of the week. It’s an action-packed week with inspiration, training and all the help participants need to create their film, including feedback from onsite games, film and visual effects experts and a visit to a creative studio.
To apply, students should visit the 3Dami website and submit a short portfolio of your work along with a commitment to attend.

We have been selected as the network partner for the Midlands and our main delivery, and broadcast industry Network Partner, will be Maverick TV who will bring broadcast expertise to our programme, offering all the young artists taking part an opportunity of working with an experienced digital production team, and ensure that all technical, logistical, compliance and editorial aspects of digital production are adhered to.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for all young people between the ages of 16-24 – with your assistance we will see young people from across the Midlands develop and nurture their ideas, work with talented professionals and then showcase their talent on a major platform!
Random Acts – Activate workshops are practical opportunities across the region where we want to work with to inspire young people across a range of artforms. These (FREE) workshops will be mini laboratories where young people will experience the richness of the arts, try out new art-forms, watch some great art or just take the time to talk their idea through with professional artists. They will find out more about the programme, what they can expect and what will be expected of them and the application procedure to the scheme. We will be at mac Birmingham on Sunday 17th May 10-4 https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/random-acts-activate-birmingham-tickets-16747809148
