An initiative from Writers Room – the pilot workshops are happening this month in Birmingham
BBC Writersroom are rolling out a new digital content initiative in The West Midlands called ‘FUTURE TALENT’. This will be launched in Nov 2014 to tie in with the other exciting outreach activities planned around our BBC Radio 1Xtra live event in Birmingham.
The aim of ‘FUTURE TALENT’ is to engage young people (16 +) in diverse communities in the creation of an online web series. We want to stimulate original work to showcase emerging talent from underrepresented voices from The West Midlands. Participants will conceive, script, perform, produce, direct and edit a pilot webisode. The best pilot web series will be showcased online and the finalists will get the opportunity to have further support, development and mentoring with the BBC.
Ahead of our launch we are running free workshops in venues across Birmingham in June. The workshops will be a fantastic opportunity to learn great tips on what makes great short form drama/comedy content, find out more information about FUTURE TALENT ahead of the launch and ask the BBC Writersroom team any burning questions people may have.
